Slime is very satisfying until it spreads on your carpet and makes it stained. But the good part is you can remove it from the carpet using some simple DIY methods. Things You Will Need

How To Get Slime Out Of Carpet If It’s Wet 

Step 1- Remove As Much As You Can 

If the slime is still wet, try to remove it as much as you can with your hands. Then use a coin, spoon or butter knife to scrape off the remaining slime out of your carpet.

Step 2 – Prepare A Cleaning Solution 

Mix 2 parts of white vinegar with one part of the water in a spray bottle and mix it properly.

Step 3 – Clean The Slime Stain 

Spray some cleaning solution on the stained area and wait for a couple of minutes. The mixture will work on the stain and make it easy to remove. Use a soft-bristled brush to gently scrub the cleaning solution on the carpet.

Step 4 – Blot The Stain 

Dab the stain using a white cloth to remove the stain and excessive cleaning solution. Repeat this till the cloth stops soaking any liquid.

Step 5 – Vacuum The Carpet 

Lastly, vacuum the carpet thoroughly to remove excess moisture from carpet fibres.

How To Get Slime Out Of Carpet If It’s Dry  

Step 1 – Freeze The Slime

Dry slime can be difficult to remove, and it can also damage the carpet. So put an ice pack on the slime for 10-15 minutes and let it freeze.

Step 2 – Scrap It 

Once the slime is frozen, use a coin, spoon or butter knife to scrape off the remaining slime. Try to remove as much as you can from your carpet.

Step 3 – Prepare A Cleaning Solution

Some Other Ways To Get Slime Out of The Carpet 

Hot Water

Scrape as much slime as you can. Then soak a sponge in hot water and wring it. Then wet the stained area using that sponge, wait for some time and wipe it with a dry cloth. Repeat this as required and dry the carpet at last.

Use Club Soda 

After scraping off the slime from your carpet, wet the stained area using an adequate amount of club soda and wait for 1-2 minutes. Then gently work on the carpet using a soft-bristled brush and bloat the excess soda. Rinse that area with water and soak it to dry.

Dish Soap 

Scrape the excess slime from the carpet. Mix 1 teaspoon of dish soap with 2 cups of warm water in a spray bottle and spray it on the stained area. Then soak a clean cloth in water and wipe the carpet. Repeat this till the stain disappears from your carpet. Soak the excessive moisture at last and leave the carpet to dry.

Hydrogen Peroxide

It can discolour some of the carpets. So test it on a small hidden area of your carpet before using it. After scraping off the slime from your carpet, prepare 2 tablespoons of mixture of hydrogen peroxide and ½ cup of warm water. Spray this mixture on a stained area and let it work for 3-5 minutes. Then wipe the carpet with a clean wet cloth. Dry the carpet once you finish.
