A. What to do when buying a new carpetWhen you buy a new carpet, remember to buy a carpet that’s ten percent larger than the room you’ll place the carpet it. The price for the extra ten percent shouldn’t be that high; if it is, look for a different carpet seller.
B. Store the extra carpet tileAsk the carpet seller to carefully trim the extra ten percent so that you can store it elsewhere (like in your attic, for example). It shouldn’t take that much space, especially if you roll the carpet really well.
C. Use the extra carpet tile when neededOnce you run into a situation where the carpet is beyond repair or cleaning, you can cut out the part of that carpet that’s bothering you and replace it with a clean tile from the spare carpet roll. That way, you won’t have to pay a penny for having a carpet technician trying to remove the stains or clean the messy carpet.
